Academia Europaea Honour

Eric Clarke, Heather Professor of Music, has been invited to become a member of Academia Europaea, The Academy of Europe. He joins a distinguished group of eight other UK-based musicologists, among whom are two current Faculty members - Margaret Bent and Reinhard Strohm.

Academia Europaea is described as a 'European Academy of Humanities, Letters and Sciences, composed of individual members. Membership is by invitation, made only after peer group nomination, scrutiny and confirmation as to the scholarship and eminence of the individual in their chosen field. Members are drawn from across the whole European continent.'
