The Pods have Landed
Work has been taking place all term behind the Music Faculty building to renew the old and inadequate practice facilities. The former practice block has been demolished, and new practice 'pods' have been installed, with modern fittings and proper sound insulation. The work should be completed soon.
In addition, a new 'ensemble room' has been constructed, which - for the first time - will give Faculty students an appropriate space in which to work as musical groups, and where small-scale performances and workshops can take place.
The new facilities should be open and available to Faculty members in the New Year (Easter for the second phase of the project, including the 'ensemble' space).
