Former Junior Research Fellow publishes book

The University of Chicago Press has just published a book by a former member of faculty, which examines how childhood was approached and reconsidered during the late 18th and 19th centuries.

Adeline Mueller, who held the New College Weston Junior Research Fellow in Music from 2011 to 2014, and who is now Assistant Professor at Mount Holyoke, has just published her study of the notion of childhood genius in music. Titled Mozart and the Mediation of Childhood, it shows how the composer’s genius shaped the social and cultural reevaluation of childhood during the Austrian Enlightenment.
