Ruth Chan (St Hilda’s, 1997) has been working on the Royal Shakespeare Company’s current production of ‘Snow in Midsummer’ which is based on one of the most famous Classical Chinese dramas by Guan Hanqing.
Ruth Chan has worked extensively as a composer in film and TV, including as assistant to Oscar-nominated film composer Dario Marianelli. After working on fringe shows, she is moving into larger theatres with her first major commission for the Royal Shakespeare Company, composing the music for a contemporary re-imagining of Guan Hanqing’s 12th-century play.
‘Snow in Midsummer’ is showing until Saturday 25 March at the Swan Theatre, RSC at Stratford Upon Avon.
