TORCH Workshop ‘Decolonising colonial ports and global history: rethinking archives of power’

November 9 @ 9:30 am - 5:45 pm

Free

The Colonial Ports and Global History (CPAGH) Network at TORCH, The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities will host an interdisciplinary workshop, ‘Decolonising colonial ports and global history: rethinking archives of power’ on Saturday, 9 November 2019 at the TORCH Seminar Room at Radcliffe Humanities. Lunch and tea/coffee will be provided.

This workshop is co-organised by Leverhulme Early Career Fellow Dr Yvonne Liao, DPhil student Min-Erh Wang, and five other founding members of the CPAGH Network, now in its second funded year.

The workshop will begin in the morning with the ‘Port Café’, a participatory discussion in the style of a World Café with three invited hosts. In the afternoon, and following from the Port Café, there will be panels exploring gender and intersectional identities in colonial ports and port cities; and globality, im/mobility, and ‘histories from below’.

All welcome! Registration is free but required due to a limited room capacity. For full details including the programme and registration page, follow the link.
