New Online Rehearsal Service for University Students & Staff

The Faculty of Music is delighted to announce the launch of its new online rehearsals service (ORS). The ORS is a University-supported service (supported in 20/21 by the Van Houten fund), run by the Music Faculty and Humanities Inter-Faculty IT team to help students/staff rehearse from disparate locations. It uses the application Jamulus which is designed specifically to support online music rehearsals for musicians (of 2 or more dispersed groupings) and can be booked and used for free by any member of the University (staff or student). There are 5 virtual rehearsal rooms included in this service each with the capacity of 25 musicians.

This service was created in response to current restrictions imposed by the pandemic. It will be in place for the duration of the academic year 20/21 and is being run by the IT team at the Music Faculty on a “best efforts” basis, due to limited resources.

For full information on ORS and how to use this service, please visit the Humanities website and login with your SSO and password.
