The Faculty of Music is delighted to be working in association with the groundbreaking professional ensemble, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. The next phase of this exciting relationship starts this week, when members of the orchestra will begin working with students from the Faculty.
The Student Project has two elements this academic year, both focused on the music of Corelli: a series of practical workshops concerned with directing from the keyboard with Robert Howarth (keyboard); and a project with Alison Bury (violin) around Baroque string playing.
This week there will be an introductory session with Robert Howarth (Music Faculty, Lecture Room B), Thursday 24 October, 7.30pm-9.30pm; and a practical session in the same place on Friday 25 October, 7.30pm-9.30pm
A series of workshops over the coming months will culminate in February in a joint concert with Music students and OAE players in the Holywell Music Room.
