Undergraduate Composer Takes London Film Festival Prize

Dan Baboulene, a 2nd-year Music undergraduate, has won a major competition for the soundtrack he wrote for a new short film, showcased last week at the British Film Institute as part of the London Film Festival.

The Festival holds an annual competition for short films made by ‘up and coming’ film makers. The prize is a showcase on screen one at the British film Institute as part of the Festival, as well as exposure to talent scouts and a panel of industry professionals who attended the screening. ‘Going Under’ is a short horror about a young woman, a dentist, who knocks out her husband’s teeth after discovering he is having an affair. Dan’s music to the film was played by violinist Makoto Nakata, another 2nd-year Music undergraduate at St Catherine’s College.
