Album co-produced by Dr Thomas Hodgson shortlisted for the RMA Tippett Medal

The album, Aenigmata for soprano and piano, co-produced by Dr Thomas Hodgson has been shortlisted for the 2020 RMA Tippett Medal

The Tippett Medal is a new prize for composition awarded by the Royal Musical Association. The award welcomed 54 submissions from a wide variety of compositional practices, including acoustic pieces, music for voice, acousmatic music, and mixed instrumental and electronic works. All submissions underwent a blind review process.

Dr Thomas Hodgson co-produced the album with composer Edward Nesbit, who he works with in the Music Department at King’s College London. Along with countertenor Michael Wood, they initiated a musical collaboration soon after the national lockdown began in 2020. The project draws upon Latin riddles by St Aldhelm to create a commentary on the new, uncertain world that we all live in.
