‘The Songs Of Solomon’:  Salamone Rossi was the first composer to set Hebrew liturgy in the style of Western Classical music.  This contemporary and colleague of Monteverdi, an eminent composer in his own right,  produced a unique and revolutionary set of choral works of extraordinary depth and beauty in an experiment that would not be repeated for another two hundred years.

All welcome!
