The Antigua and Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra in concert with the musicians of Christ Church Cathedral School

Free entry, with retiring collection

The Antigua and Barbuda Symphony Orchestra will be performing alongside musicians from Christ Church Cathedral School as part of their first ever UK tour. Founded under the guidance of the Kanneh-Mason family in 2018, the ABYSO aims to open up new opportunities for orchestral playing for young people in Antigua as well as across the wider Caribbean. Musicians from CCCS have been mentoring members of the ABYSO, and this unique collaboration celebrates the on-going relationship between Christ Church and the musicians of Antigua and Barbuda.

The concert features nearly fifty members of the ABYSO alongside a combined choir representing the three sets of choristers at CCCS. The programme includes repertoire by Shostakovich, Kreisler and Morricone, in addition to an innovative performance of Vivaldi's 'Winter' arranged for steel pan and a duo by Braimah and Konya Kanneh-Mason.
