The Faculty of Music at the BBC Proms

Several academics from the Faculty of Music are to feature in the BBC Proms this year, as guest speakers and performers. Professor Philip Ross Bullock was invited to speak in Prom 16: The Hallé perform Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony, which is available to listen to online. Professor Laura Tunbridge will be featured in two concerts, Prom 29: Mozart’s Mass in C minor and Prom 49: Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri. Dr Leah Broad will discuss the works of composer Grace Williams in Prom 32: Holst’s The Planets, as well as Dora Pejačević's work in Prom 40: Martin Helmchen plays Brahms

Our Director of Musical Performance and Performance Studies Rosalind Ventris will also be performing in the festival as part of the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective. Their programme features works by Schubert, Gershwin and Coleridge-Taylor.
