Turtle Opera is a multi-disciplinary music and drama creative project for children on the autism spectrum with an interest in music or drama, between the ages of 11 and 15 years old.

The Turtle Opera is a Turtle Key Arts partnership with English Touring Opera and in collaboration with Oxford University Music dept and Autism Family Support Oxfordshire.

The first session will involve an introduction to the project and information about the participants ahead of meeting them. Students who have not yet received autism and the arts training will also need to arrange for this online ahead of starting the project.

The young people then gather for the following nine Saturdays. The group will work with professional director Oli Campbell Smith and composer James Garner to create their own music and story which will culminate in a performance for friends, family and invited guests on Saturday 15th June at the Ogston Music School. The team will be supported by a dedicated pastoral leader from AFSO and a team co-ordinator.

Participating students will be given further guidance on their role before the start of the project and will be supported throughout the project by the team.
