All are welcome at our weekly lunchtime recital series, showcasing a variety of music performed by members from across the university and organised by Magdalen College Music Society. Recitals last around 30 minutes and entry is free. This week’s recital (16/05/25) features Bette Zhaoyi Yan (soprano) and Yuchen Zhang (piano), and will include a blend of Chinese art songs, indigenous melodies from ethnominority groups, ancient Chinese poems, and Italian operatic arias. Tied together through the theme of 'Longing and Belonging', this programme shows music that speaks to the human spirit's shared experiences of desire, nostalgia, and connection. Do come along for a fantastic lunchtime of music!
