The Islands of the Blessed

£12 regular/£7 student

Join the Oxford University Chorus for an exciting evening of choral music.

We explore a story of loss and the beauty of remembrance through Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s ‘The Death of Minnehaha’, the second cantata in Coleridge-Taylor’s trilogy, ‘The Song of Hiawatha’. We are also very excited to present a new student composition, Lucian Ng's 'this i know'. This piece is a setting of a newly commissioned poem, 'Spring, after Minnehaha' by Hannah Wei, a work inspired by the text for 'The Death of Minnehaha' - Longfellow's 'The Song of Hiawatha'. This will be accompanied by orchestral and choral works from Pavane.

Oxford University Chorus is a university-wide choir and part of the Oxford University Music Society. George Finney is our Principal Conductor, and George Ke is our Assistant Conductor.
