Errollyn Wallen CBE, Master of the King's Music, in conversation with Dr Leah Broad, writer and historian.
Errollyn Wallen CBE is a multi award-winning Belize-born British composer, appointed Master of the King’s Music in August 2024. She has been named as one of the world’s top twenty most performed living classical composers and was awarded this year’s BBC Music Magazine Personality of the Year. Her output includes over twenty operas and a large catalogue of orchestral, chamber and vocal works, which are performed and broadcast throughout the world.
She will be in conversation with writer Dr Leah Broad, multi-award-winning writer, historian, and public speaker. Her work focuses on twentieth-century cultural history, especially women in the arts. Leah's first book, Quartet, is a group biography of four women composers: Ethel Smyth, Rebecca Clarke, Dorothy Howell and Doreen Carwithen.
