Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective - Pre-Concert Recital

Five pianists from the University of Oxford explore the theme of colour through a vibrant selection of solo piano works from Debussy to Sakamoto.

– Freda Swain: The Red Flower
– Schumann: No. 4 Ziemlich langsam and No. 5 Schnell from Bunte Blätter op. 99.

Matthew Clemmet (FHS 24’)
– Scriabin: Piano Sonata No. 4 in F-sharp major, Op. 30

Maria Del Mar Umbert Kimura (MSt)
– Alicia de Larrocha: Aiguablava (Blue Water)
– Ryuichi Sakamoto: Aoneko no Torso (Blue Cat’s Torso)

Jennifer Jennifer (MPhil)
– Debussy: Feux d’artifice

Judith Valerie Engel (DPhil)
– Maria Kallionpää Die Raben

Following the recital, there will be a short break followed by an evening concert with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective.

The Cultural Programme and the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective are producing three specially curated concerts over the coming months.  You  may be already be a fan, may never  have heard a chamber ensemble perform or simply want to try something new.
