Libby Burgess is a well-known soprano, playing regularly as song specialist and chamber musician. She is the founding Artistic Director of New Paths Music, curating fourteen festivals of song, chamber music and community outreach.
Her recent calendar includes song recitals at Wigmore Hall with Alessandro Fisher, Oxford Lieder with Ailish Tynan, Southwell Festival with Mark Padmore, Leeds Lieder with Claire Barnett-Jones, Temple Music with Ashley Riches, and Aldeburgh Festival with Ben Hulett, The Rite of Spring in duet with Chris Hopkins, recitals with Julian Bliss, Matilda Lloyd and Laura van der Heijden; a complete Beethoven cello sonata project with five cellists and frequent broadcasts with the BBC Singers. Her premiere with baritone Marcus Farnsworth of Cheryl Frances-Hoad's Everything Grows Extravagantly was selected by The Times as a highlight of the year.
Libby Burgess was the first female organ scholar at Christ Church.
