Baritone Edward Chesterman and pianist François Cloete perform Franz Schubert’s masterwork ‘Winterreise' (A Winter’s Journey). The 24-song cycle, often described as the epitome of German Lieder, details the emotional turmoil of a man who loses his beloved and attempts to come to terms with love, loss, pain and ultimately death, all while traversing the wintery countryside.
Edward and François are undergraduates reading Music at the University of Oxford (Merton College).
