The workshop accompanies an exhibition at the Bodleian Libraries of Playford's Dancing Masters and other gems from 17th and 18th century English country dance collections from October 2023 to January 2024.
The Dancing Master series includes dance workshops for complete beginners; concerts by Leveret and The Oakstone Trio; Chris Green's 'Switched on Playford'; and online talks.
Recordings of the online talks - 'A dance band for Playford?' and 'The Dancing Master in Context: Playford’s publishing and music-making in 17th century England' - are available on the Bodleian Podcasts website.
