Lubomyr Melnyk is a Ukrainian pianist with a philosophical yet physically very powerful piano technique, making him arguably the world's fastest pianist. His "continuous music" defines a new genre, or "operatic voice", for the classical piano. Initially inspired by a desire to merge Indian classical virtuosity/dexterity and thought with the Western classical tradition, this music is now an art that only Lubomyr can perform. Concerts are endorsed by the Balliol College Musical Society.
The concert in the Holywell Music Room is on November the 4th, starting at 7pm.
