Tickets from £20
On Saturday 28 March, the Music in Action charity is bringing the famous English Chamber Orchestra, the most recorded orchestra, to play in the beautiful candlelit ambience of the University Church, St Mary the Virgin, Oxford.
Raising funds to help children through music, the evening is a wonderful programme of classics, including Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Bach’s E Major Violin Concerto. The soloist and director is Harriet Mackenzie (an internationally acclaimed violinist) described as a "Knockout from start to finish" - The Guardian and "Captivating" with "Searing Intensity" - The Strad.
Attendees will be showered by beauty, and artistic brilliance, with the ambience of candlelight creating a luminous hue in this historic setting.
James Mews MBE, Chairman of Music in Action said, “The charity is delighted to be raising funds to help local children by bringing this World class orchestra to Oxford. The concert will be a unique way to have a wonderful evening while knowing that the money you pay for your ticket will help change disadvantaged children through the power of music. All are guaranteed to be left speechless by this world class talent.”
Who are Music in Action?
The Music in Action charity provides musical education, workshops and yearly bursaries to disadvantaged children. We attend schools to provide workshops with a selection of the musicians that play at our concerts, including Harriet Mackenzie, and we provide musical bursaries to children to impact and improve their wellbeing, who would otherwise be unable to afford tuition. Bringing music to more lives is in the forefront of our work. The beginning of last year, marked the start of a UK concert series to raise money for this cause. With money made in Oxford, we will provide local Oxfordshire outreach. See: Example of our schools outreach: https://vimeo.com/847776899/7b219db472
