The Faculty of Music at the University of Oxford invites expressions of interest from postdoctoral and completing graduate scholars who wish to apply for the British Academy (BA) Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme to start their project in 2026.
Further details of the scheme and the procedure for applicants applying through Oxford can be found on the Humanities Division website.
In the first instance, prospective applicants should make contact with the academic in the Faculty of Music at Oxford whom they would like to be their mentor and ask if they would be prepared to undertake this role. Once this support has been secured, those looking to apply via the Faculty of Music at Oxford should submit a completed application using this expressions of interest form to research@music.ox.ac.uk no later than noon on Tuesday 15 July. The proposed Faculty mentor should also be asked to send a brief note of support to the same address by the same deadline. You are also welcome to include, if appropriate, a separate statement of any circumstances that you feel may have impacted on your research track record (such as illness, parental leave, etc).
We aim to complete shortlisting by the end of July. At that point selected applicants will be invited to develop applications, with support and feedback from the Faculty’s Research Director and Research Facilitator, for submission by the final BA deadline of 5pm on Wednesday 1 October.
