This annual collaboration with Oxford International Song Festival offers a fascinating insight into the craft of composition, as five talented student composers hear their work performed by former Oxford Song Young Artists and receive feedback from Professor Martyn Harry.

Phantom Melodies and Tangerine Trees: A voyage through the psychedelic musical experience
Using musical illusions, perceptual experiments and examples from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Tchaikovsky, Steve Reich and beyond, Prof. Milton Mermikides explores how music can evoke altered perceptions of time and self, the blending of senses and moments of transcendence, and why music relies on the very same perceptual mechanisms for its extraordinary power.
