Professor Sarah Hill will appear at this year's Hay Festival, in conversation with BBC DJ Huw Stephens. The event, entitled 'Wales: A Hundred Records', will explore how Huw Stephens selected 100 Welsh records for his new book, and how these artists have influenced Wales' culture, past and present. The pair will also analyse highlights in the careers of the most important recording artists Wales has produced, singing in English or Welsh - including Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Dafydd Iwan, Max Boyce, Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals, Adwaith and Mace the Great.

Professor Gascia Ouzounian launches new book on sound, warfare and urban violence
Professor Ouzounian will launch her new book, The Trembling City: The Sonic and Atmospheric Violence of Vibrational Warfare (MIT Press, 2026), at Ibraaz in London on Sunday 8 November at 3pm, in conversation with artist and writer Susan Schuppli.
'Everyday Beethoven' - Professor Laura Tunbridge
Professor Laura Tunbridge repeated her inaugural lecture as Heather Professor of Music at this year's Meeting Minds weekend for alumni. As the 200th anniversary of his death approaches in 2027, Ludwig van Beethoven remains ubiquitous, his music still dominating concerts, films and advertising. In 'Everyday Beethoven', Professor Tunbridge explores the friendships, collaborations and musical relationships that enabled the composer to come to prominence.
