In this "In conversation" with Nicholas Collon and Jane Mitchell (Artistic and Creative Directors of Aurora Orchestra), Professor Laura Tunbridge will lead a discussion on the challenges of memorisation for performers and conductors, as well as what creativity is made possible by memorisation. There will be an opportunity to put questions of your own to Nick and Jane.
Abolition Song and its Legacies
This is the final event of a two‑year research project, bringing together music, scholarship and contemporary reflection. Alongside performances, the hour‑long programme features contributions from the project’s researchers, offering insight into the historical and musical contexts behind the work.
