Come along and join the Bate Collective for their first concert of the year. This concert forms part of the Faculty of Music's Lunchtime Recital Series, in collaboration with Magdalen College Music Society.

Chiara Cozzolani : 'Domine ad adiuvandum a8' from I Vespri Natalazi (1650)
Tarquinio Merula : 'Ballo detto Gennaro' from Canzoni overo Sonate concertate per chiesa e camera, op. 12 (1637)
Giovanni Antonio Rigatti : 'Nisi Dominus a3' from Messa e salmi (1640)
Giacomo Carissimi : 'Plorate, filii Israel' - the final scene of the oratorio Jephte (ca.1650)
Plus organ works by Merula and dances by Girolamo Frescobaldi and Gasparo Zanetti

Adachi will talk about his wide-ranging practice spanning music, poetry and visual art. Topics will include human voice, composition, improvisation, performance technique (and its absence), site-specific work, technology and artificial intelligence. The talk may also include a short performance designed for the online format.
