Many congratulations to DPhil student Emma Arthur who has been awarded the Alison Dunlop Graduate Prize by the Society for Musicology in Ireland. The prize, which is awarded biennially, will be presented to Emma at the upcoming SMI/ICTM-IE Postgraduate Conference at Maynooth University on 12-13 January 2024 in recognition of her Master's thesis entitled Art Music and Music Education in Irish Convent Schools, 1830-1900: A Preliminary Survey and Interpretation of the Primary Sources. Emma will also be presenting a paper at the conference on some of her findings.
